Team Innovation and Serious Play
In today’s fast-moving world, innovation and creativity are not only in demand, but expected in almost all teams… and yet we still struggle to define and measure the magic that leads to true breakthroughs. As practitioners we ask ourselves – How can we create a climate and environment that brings out the best creativity from people? How can we harness art and play to open wider possibilities?
Join us for an afternoon of stories, LEGO blocks and treasure hunting as we:
- Complete a pre-workshop survey on team climate for innovation
- Hear stories and reflections from practitioners working to create an innovation climate
- Explore four metrics or markers for measuring team innovation
- Play with tools and ‘serious play’ approaches to develop innovative capabilities

“Too much of our work amounts to the drudgery of arranging means toward ends, mechanically placing the right foot in front of the left and the left in front of the right, moving down narrow corridors toward narrow goals. Play widens the halls. Work will always be with us, and many works are worthy. But the worthiest works of all often reflect an artful creativity that looks more like play than work.” — James Ogilvy
